Effects of Exercise in Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy for Head and Neck Cancer: A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Kuan-Yin Lin et al.

Summary: The study found that combined aerobic, resistance, and flexibility exercises during chemotherapy may improve muscle strength, balance, flexibility, and body composition, as well as enhance health-related quality of life and alleviate cardiovascular fitness deterioration in patients with head and neck cancer. Further research with larger sample sizes is needed to investigate the long-term effects of exercise in this population.

Single-cell Profiles and Prognostic Impact of Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes Coexpressing CD39, CD103, and PD-1 in Ovarian Cancer

Celine M. Laumont et al.

Summary: The coexpression of CD39, CD103, and PD-1 in high-grade serous ovarian cancer delineated highly activated CD8(+) and CD4(+) TIL, demonstrating cytolytic, humoral, and regulatory immune functions, with significant prognostic impact. Triple-positive TIL represent promising targets for combination immunotherapy strategies.

Hallmarks of T cell aging

Maria Mittelbrunn et al.

Summary: In this Review, Mittelbrunn and Kroemer propose ten molecular hallmarks as common denominators of T cell aging, which include primary and secondary hallmarks explaining the manifestation of T cell aging and its impact on overall deterioration. The challenge now is to weigh the relative impact of these hallmarks on T cell aging and understand their interconnections, with the goal of defining molecular targets for interventions in the aging process.

Low biological fluctuation of mitochondrial CpG and non-CpG methylation at the single-molecule level

Chloe Goldsmith et al.

Summary: Nanopore sequencing technology was used to study mitochondrial DNA methylation patterns, revealing low levels of CpG and CpH methylation with little variation across biological processes. Tissues generally exhibited higher levels of 5mCpG and 5mCpH compared to cell lines, with global and single-base differences found in cancer tissues.
