Access to bike lanes and childhood obesity: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Xiongfeng Pan et al.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the association between bike lane access and weight-related behaviors among children and adolescents. The findings indicated a significant association between bike lane access and physical activity among this population group. However, it remains challenging to draw a conclusion on the relationship between bike lane access and weight-related outcomes.

Dermal fibroblasts cultured from donors with type 2 diabetes mellitus retain an epigenetic memory associated with poor wound healing responses

Aaiad H. A. Al-Rikabi et al.

Summary: Patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) exhibit distinct changes in dermal fibroblasts (DF) in response to tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), including a loss of responsiveness in terms of proliferation and secretion. This may explain the susceptibility of these patients to chronic wounds.

Chemokines in post-traumatic stress disorder: A network meta-analysis

Xiongfeng Pan et al.

Summary: This network meta-analysis summarized previous studies on the association between chemokines concentrations and PTSD. Findings indicated that concentrations of CCL3, CCL4, and CCL5 were significantly higher in PTSD patients, while CCL2 tended to be lower and CXCL12 tended to be higher in PTSD patients. SUCRA probabilities ranked CCL5 as the most effective chemokine in PTSD patients.

Advanced maternal age induces fetal growth restriction through decreased placental inflammatory cytokine expression and immune cell accumulation in mice

Summary: Advanced maternal age is a risk factor for female infertility, which can lead to pregnancy complications. This study showed that placental dysfunction and senescence in aged mothers may contribute to the higher rate of pregnancy complications.
