Macrophage-Derived MicroRNA-21 Drives Overwhelming Glycolytic and Inflammatory Response during Sepsis via Repression of the PGE2/IL-10 Axis

Shengcai Zheng et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that lncRNA-PVT1 plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response of sepsis through the p38 MAPK signaling pathway, and it can regulate its own expression through a positive feedback loop, providing a potential therapeutic target for LPS-induced inflammation.

Clinical Significance of the Serum lncRNA NORAD Expression in Patients with Neonatal Sepsis and Its Association with miR-410-3p

Hong Zhang et al.

Summary: The study validated elevated NORAD levels in NS patients as a potential diagnostic marker and demonstrated that NORAD knockdown reversed the inflammation actions in macrophage cells influenced by LPS. MiR-410-3p was identified as a target of NORAD and found to be downregulated in NS patients.

Clinical value and role of microRNA-29c-3p in sepsis-induced inflammation and cardiac dysfunction

Bingyu Zhang et al.

Summary: This study found that miR-29c-3p is upregulated in sepsis patients and can distinguish sepsis patients from healthy controls. In a rat sepsis model, cardiac dysfunction and inflammation were observed, but these effects were reversed by injecting miR-29c-3p antagomir. Logistic regression analysis indicated that miR-29c-3p is an independent factor in the occurrence of cardiac dysfunction in sepsis patients.

Long Non-Coding RNA RMRP Contributes to Sepsis-Induced Acute Kidney Injury

Xia Zhang et al.

Summary: The study revealed that lncRNA RMRP contributes to sepsis-induced AKI by upregulating DDX5 in a miR-206 dependent manner and by activating NLRP3 inflammasome. This novel discovery may provide a potential strategy for treating AKI.
