Fabrication of La2O3/g-C3N4 Heterojunction with Enhanced Photocatalytic Performance of Tetracycline Hydrochloride

Magnetic 2D/2D oxygen doped g-C3N4/biochar composite to activate peroxymonosulfate for degradation of emerging organic pollutants

Summary: A magnetic 2D/2D oxygen-doped graphite carbon nitride/biochar composite was fabricated and used to activate peroxymonosulfate for the degradation of emerging organic pollutants. The composite showed superior catalytic activity, complete degrading antibiotic SMX and other emerging organic pollutants, with good photocatalytic activity under visible light. This enhanced catalytic activity was attributed to improved interfacial charge transfer and adsorption capacity.

Tube wall delamination engineering induces photogenerated carrier separation to achieve photocatalytic performance improvement of tubular g-C3N4

Summary: Potassium ions were used to regulate the structure of tubular g-C3N4, promoting the synthesis of delaminated tubular g-C3N4 and enhancing the performance of the photocatalyst. Experimental and DFT calculations revealed the physicochemical properties of K-CN, showing high photocatalytic degradation efficiency and H2O2 generation.

Novel siligraphene/g-C3N4composites with enhanced visible light photocatalytic degradations of dyes and drugs

Summary: A novel graphene-like SiC (siligraphene) was synthesized and used to enhance the photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4. The composite of siligraphene/g-C3N4 showed significantly improved photocatalytic properties in the degradation of dyes and drugs under visible light irradiation, attributed to enlarged surface area, suitable band gap, excellent electron properties, appropriate surface charge, and efficient electron migration.

Single-step synthesis of oxygen-doped hollow porous graphitic carbon nitride for photocatalytic ciprofloxacin decomposition

Summary: In this study, a series of oxygen-doped hollow porous surface graphitic carbon nitride samples were prepared by one-pot thermal polycondensation, showing superior photocatalytic performance for the degradation of organic pollutants in wastewater containing pharmaceutical waste. The improved light absorption, reduced recombination rate of photogenerated electron and hole, and enhanced electron transportation of the OCN samples contributed to their excellent degradation performance.

Synthesis and photocatalytic mechanism of visible-light-driven AgBr/g-C3N4 composite

Summary: The AgBr/g-C3N4 composite photocatalyst, with loaded AgBr nanoparticles, significantly enhances the photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4. Optimizing the AgBr content to 25wt%, the degradation rate of MO can reach 90% after 30 minutes. The improvement in photocatalytic performance is mainly attributed to the effective production and transfer of e(-)/h(+) due to the absorption of visible light by AgBr.

Preparation and Photocatalytic Performance of Double-Shelled Hollow W18O49@C3N4@Ti3C2 Microspheres

Summary: The double-shelled W18O49@C3N4@Ti3C2 hollow spheres exhibited significantly higher photocatalytic performance compared to the single-shelled C3N4 and C3N4@Ti3C2 hollow spheres, due to their larger surface area and faster charge separation efficiency. A Z scheme mechanism based on heterojunction construction was proposed to explain the enhanced photocatalytic performance of W18O49@C3N4@Ti3C2 hollow spheres, which effectively inhibited electron/hole recombination during charge transfer while maintaining strong hydrogen reduction ability.

Synthesis of a Novel Photocatalyst MVO4/g-C3N4 (M = La, Gd) with Better Photocatalytic Activity for Tetracycline Hydrochloride Degradation under Visible-Light Irradiation

Summary: In this study, novel photocatalysts MVO4/g-C3N4 (M = La, Gd) were prepared using the hydrothermal method, and 40%GdVO4/g-C3N4 showed the best photocatalytic performance for degrading tetracycline hydrochloride, reaching 91% degradation in 3 hours, which was 3.64 times higher than pristine g-C3N4. The study also proposed a possible mechanism for the photodegradation process.

Synergistic ternary porous CN-PPy-MMt nanocomposite for efficient photocatalytic metronidazole mineralization: performance, mechanism, and pathways

Summary: In this study, a synergistic ternary porous carbon nitride-polypyrrole-montmorillonite (CN-PPy-MMt) nanocomposite with high photocatalytic performance was successfully synthesized. The superior performance was attributed to enhanced light absorption capacity, charge transfer, and reduced recombination of electron-hole pairs within the CN-PPy-MMt nanocomposite. The photocatalyst exhibited excellent reusability and stability, with superoxide radicals (O-2(-)) and holes (h(+)) playing a major role in the mineralization of metronidazole (MZ).
