LINC01089, suppressed by YY1, inhibits lung cancer progression by targeting miR-301b-3p/HPDG axis

Rusong Yang et al.

Summary: LINC01089 expression was downregulated in lung cancer tissues and cell lines, and low levels of LINC01089 predicted a poor clinical outcome. LINC01089, directly suppressed by YY1, functioned as a competing endogenous RNA against miR-301b-3p to increase HPGD expression, thus inhibiting lung cancer progression.

YY1-inudced activation of lncRNA DUXAP8 promotes proliferation and suppresses apoptosis of triple negative breast cancer cells through upregulating SAPCD2

Zhen Yang et al.

Summary: Research shows that DUXAP8 is highly expressed in TNBC, and its silencing can inhibit TNBC cell proliferation and promote cell apoptosis. DUXAP8 interacts with miR-29a-3p to enhance the expression of SAPCD2. The transcription factor YY1 can bind to the DUXAP8 promoter, activating transcription of DUXAP8. YY1-induced transcriptional activation of DUXAP8 promotes TNBC cell growth through the miR-29a-3p/SAPCD2 axis.

The lncRNA XIST/miR-125b-2-3p axis modulates cell proliferation and chemotherapeutic sensitivity via targeting Wee1 in colorectal cancer

Zhao-lei Zeng et al.

Summary: miR-125b-2-3p is under-expressed in colorectal cancer, and its over-expression is associated with lower proliferation rates and fewer metastases. High levels of miR-125b-2-3p significantly improve chemotherapeutic sensitivity in colorectal cancer. Additionally, lncRNA XIST absorbs miR-125b-2-3p to regulate WEE1 expression, promoting metastasis in colorectal cancer.

LncRNA SNHG1 promotes tumor progression and cisplatin resistance through epigenetically silencing miR-381 in breast cancer

Mingkun Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that SNHG1 is significantly upregulated in breast cancer tissues and cells, and its high levels are closely associated with reduced survival rates in patients. Silencing of SNHG1 inhibited the proliferative, migratory, and invasive activity of breast cancer cells and enhanced their sensitivity to cisplatin. The mechanism involves SNHG1 interacting with EZH2 to epigenetically inhibit miR-381 expression, which in turn suppresses tumor progression and overcomes chemoresistance in breast cancer cells.
