Long noncoding RNA XIST knockdown suppresses the growth of colorectal cancer cells via regulating microRNA-338-3p/PAX5 axis

Wei Li et al.

Summary: In this study, XIST and PAX5 expression were found to be increased, while miR-338-3p expression was decreased in colorectal cancer tissues and cells. XIST knockdown inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and induced apoptosis by downregulating miR-338-3p expression and subsequently reducing PAX5 levels. This suggests that targeting the XIST/miR-338-3p/PAX5 axis could be a potential therapeutic strategy for colorectal cancer.

Long non-coding RNA LINC00525 interacts with miR-31-5p and miR-125a-5p to act as an oncogenic molecule in spinal chordoma

Futai Gong et al.

Summary: The study identified that LINC00525 is highly expressed in spinal chordoma, while miR-31-5p and miR-125a-5p levels are low. Downregulation of LINC00525 inhibited the proliferation, migration, invasion, and promoted apoptosis in spinal chordoma cells, suggesting that LINC00525 targets miR-31-5p and miR-125a-5p to promote tumorigenesis and progression in spinal chordoma.

Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) HOXD-AS2 promotes glioblastoma cell proliferation, migration and invasion by regulating the miR-3681-5p/MALT1 signaling pathway

Xingming Zhong et al.

Summary: This study identified that lncRNA HOXD-AS2 is significantly up-regulated in GBM tissues, promoting the aggressiveness of GBM cells by affecting the miR-3681-5p/MALT1 axis. Silencing HOXD-AS2 inhibited cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and promoted apoptosis. Future research is needed to explore the mechanism by which HOXD-AS2 is upregulated in GBM cells to provide new insights for GBM treatment.

Long non-coding RNA NORAD protects against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury induced brain damage, cell apoptosis, oxidative stress and inflammation by regulating miR-30a-5p/YWHAG

Xinyu Zhou et al.

Summary: LncRNA NORAD exerts protective effects in OGD/R-induced neural injury by binding miR-30a-5p to upregulate YWHAG expression, reducing cell apoptosis and alleviating oxidative stress and inflammation.
