Effects of the liquid natural rubber (LNR) on mechanical properties and microstructure of epoxy/silica/kenaf hybrid composite for potential automotive applications

C. N. Aiza Jaafar et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of rubber toughened epoxy/silica/kenaf composites on mechanical properties and microstructure, with the addition of liquid rubber enhancing the mechanical performance of the composite for potential automotive applications. SEM analysis showed that the addition of liquid rubber helped in lowering stress transfer and resulted in optimum mechanical properties, making the composite highly suitable for automotive applications.
