Study of the impact of vine cultivation technology on the Feteasca Neagra wine phenolic composition and antioxidant properties

Victoria Artem et al.

Summary: The study found that combining organic farming and cluster thinning can significantly increase the polyphenolic content of Feteasca Neagra wines. Organic wines showed better antioxidant properties, especially in less favorable climatic conditions. The combination of both viticultural practices enhances the nutritional and antioxidant properties of the wines, leading to better structure and aging potential.

Techniques and modeling of polyphenol extraction from food: a review

Adithya Sridhar et al.

Summary: The growing demand for vegetarian food with health benefits such as improving the immune system has led to a focus on technologies for extracting polyphenolic compounds from foods. Conventional and advanced extraction techniques differ significantly in efficiency and energy consumption, with membrane separation and encapsulation promising to improve the sustainability of separating polyphenolic compounds.

Polyphenols as Antitumor Agents Targeting Key Players in Cancer-Driving Signaling Pathways

Manuel Humberto Chairez-Ramirez et al.

Summary: Polyphenols have been shown to regulate signaling pathways central to cancer development, progression, and metastasis. They induce protein modifications, particularly on p53, influencing its role in DNA damage response, apoptosis control, and cell-fate decisions. Understanding the effects of polyphenols on key players in cancer-driving signaling pathways can lead to improved targeted therapies with reduced toxicity for cancer treatment.
