Non-destructive evaluation of ceramic porosity using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy

Davit Hakobyan et al.

Summary: The dielectric constants of alumina ceramic samples were measured using non-destructive terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. By employing an effective medium approximation, it was demonstrated that relative permittivity can be utilized to evaluate the porous alumina samples. The study highlighted the potential of terahertz radiation for non-destructive characterization of low loss high dielectric constant ceramics.

Layer interface effects on dielectric breakdown strength of 3D printed rubber insulator using stereolithography

Muneaki Kurimoto et al.

Summary: The study focused on the layer interface effect on the dielectric breakdown strength of 3D printed rubber insulators. Findings showed that a smaller laminating pitch reduced the AC breakdown strength due to insufficient curing around the layer interfaces. The proposed solution to minimize this effect is to use thinner layers and 3D cylindrical printings.
