Evaluation of Internal Fit and Marginal Adaptation of Provisional Crowns Fabricated with Three Different Techniques

Summary: This in vitro study aimed to assess the internal fit and marginal discrepancy of provisional crowns made by different methods. The study found that manually fabricated provisional crowns had better internal fit and smaller marginal discrepancy compared to those made with computer-aided design/computer aided manufacturing technology (CAM) and 3-dimensional printed technology (3DP). Additionally, the 3DP group showed significantly higher gap distances at occlusion locations than the other groups.

Detection and analyzing plane of non-cavitated approximal caries by cross-polarized optical coherence tomography (CP-OCT)

Summary: The study evaluated the effectiveness of CP-OCT in detecting noncavitated approximal caries and found that analyzing the coronal plane was superior to the horizontal plane. CP-OCT was shown to be effective in detecting noncavitated approximal caries, providing a nondestructive and ionizing-radiation-free alternative for caries detection.
