Maximizing growth and productivity of onion (Allium cepaL.) bySpirulina platensisextract and nitrogen-fixing endophytePseudomonas stutzeri

L. S. M. Geries et al.

Summary: The study investigated the impact of Spirulina extract and nitrogen-fixing endophyte on the growth and yield of onion plants under different nitrogen doses. Results showed that the mixture of Spirulina and Pseudomonas had a significant positive effect on plant parameters, marketable yield, bulb weight, and other factors when applied with recommended nitrogen dose. Spirulina extract is rich in bioactive compounds, while Pseudomonas can produce various beneficial substances to enhance onion growth and productivity.

Diazotrophic bacteria and substrates in the growth and nitrogen accumulation of sugarcane seedlings

Ester Schiavon Matoso et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of diazotrophic bacteria inoculation, sugarcane varieties, and substrates on the growth and nitrogen accumulation of sugarcane seedlings. Results showed that inoculation with bacteria had a positive impact on growth and nitrogen accumulation, with varying responses depending on variety and substrate. Better results were observed with commercial substrate and those containing a higher proportion of organic compost. Understanding the interaction between variety, substrate, and bacterial inoculation is crucial for successful production of inoculated sugarcane seedlings.
