Mechanical behavior of ABS plastic-matrix nanocomposites with three different carbon-based nanofillers

Summary: Understanding the nonlinear visco-elastic-plastic behavior of PMMA thin films during nanoindentation is crucial for predicting the plastic deformation of thermoplastic polymer products. The results of experimental investigation and finite element simulation suggest that the Oyen-Cook constitutive equation can accurately describe the time-dependent elastic-plastic deformation of PMMA thin films.

Synergistic Effect of Graphene Nanoplatelets and Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes Incorporated in PLA Matrix: Nanoindentation of Composites with Improved Mechanical Properties

Summary: This study investigated the synergistic effect of two carbon nanofillers on the mechanical properties of PLA-based nanocomposites, showing that using both graphene and carbon nanotubes in the polymer structure results in better performance compared to using a single carbon nanofiller. Different sample preparation techniques were applied to study the influence of preliminary processing on the nanomechanical properties of composite specimens. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy were used to analyze the structural features of the pristine carbon nanomaterials.
