Summary: Social jetlag (SJL) is the discrepancy between social and biological rhythms, and studies have shown a positive correlation between evening chronotype and SJL. SJL-mimicking conditions can disrupt the regularity of estrous cycles of female animals and impair cognitive function. Additionally, shift conditions for 2 days delay circadian rhythms, while sleep deprivation for 5 days affects locomotor activity rhythms, similar to the evening chronotype.
