Some active compounds in the plant, such as Alpinetin, Pinocembrin, and Pinostrobin, have shown potential in inhibiting the replication of SARS-CoV-2 by targeting the M-pro enzyme. Molecular docking and simulations have demonstrated the favorable thermodynamic interactions between the compounds and the enzyme, suggesting their potential as anti-SARS-CoV-2 candidates.
