CuFe electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction in alkaline electrolysis

Mallikarjun Bhavanari et al.

Summary: In this study, a CuFe layered double hydroxide (LDH) electrocatalyst was synthesized on nickel foam via a facile hydrothermal method, demonstrating significant electrocatalytic activity for HER in alkaline electrolysis. The overpotential of CuFe LDH was lower compared to NiFe LDH and NiRu LDH, possibly due to higher proton adsorption by Cu. These results suggest that CuFe LDH could be a promising candidate for developing low cost and efficient hydroxide catalysts.

Green hydrogen: A new flexibility source for security constrained scheduling of power systems with renewable energies

Abbas Rabiee et al.

Summary: Green hydrogen generated from renewable energy sources will significantly contribute to a successful energy transition and efficiently link various energy sectors. Investigating the impact of green hydrogen on generation scheduling and power system security, a security-constrained multi-period optimal power flow model is developed, considering the flexibility of power to hydrogen demand and demonstrating its role in cost reduction and reduction of renewable energy curtailment.
