This work highlights the potential of the NiFe LDH/FeOOH heterostructure in facilitating active NiOOH species formation and enhancing overall alkaline simulated seawater splitting efficiency.

Zr-doped CoFe-layered double hydroxides for highly efficient seawater electrolysis
