Fine cubic Cu2O nanocrystals as highly selective catalyst for propylene epoxidation with molecular oxygen

Wei Xiong et al.

Summary: The study successfully utilized 27 nm-sized cubic Cu2O nanocrystals as catalysts for propylene epoxidation, achieving a propylene oxide selectivity of over 80%. The reaction occurring at the {110} edge sites reduced the reaction temperature and increased propylene oxide selectivity, highlighting the importance of catalyst design for enhancing selectivity in propylene epoxidation reactions.

Selective photocatalytic reduction CO2 to CH4 on ultrathin TiO2 nanosheet via coordination activation

Zhi-Wen Wang et al.

Summary: Ultra-thin TiO2 nanosheet (NST) with abundant Ti3+ sites has been developed as a photocatalyst for high yield and selectivity in the conversion of CO2 to CH4. The NST selectively activates CO2 on its surface, forming bridging Ti dot CO2-Ti coordination species to lower the activation energy barrier and determine the selectivity for CH4 production via Ti-C coordination bond.

Titania-decorated copper oxide nanophotocatalyst powder: A stable and promoted photocatalytic active system

Fahimeh Ansari et al.

Summary: In this work, CuO-Cu2O nanocomposites decorated with TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized and showed enhanced photocatalytic activity in gas-phase photo-oxidation reactions compared to pure CuO-Cu2O and titania. The simultaneous presence of different copper oxide types in the structure and TiO2 nanoparticles as a surface decorated part may contribute to the improved performance. Additionally, a cascade-type mechanism was proposed as a possible explanation for the photocatalytic behavior of the system.
