Versatilely tuned vertical silicon nanowire arrays by cryogenic reactive ion etching as a lithium-ion battery anode

Andam Deatama Refino et al.

Summary: The production of high-aspect-ratio silicon nanowire-based anode for lithium ion batteries is challenging and requires the optimization of several etching parameters. Different materials were used as masks to investigate their effects on resulting nanowire structures. Raman spectroscopy revealed higher compressive stress in longer Si wires, and anisotropy of lattice stress was found in Si nanowires. The half-cell battery integrating ICP-RIE-based silicon nanowire anode exhibited a certain capacity but needs further improvement.

Ultrashort Pulse Laser Lift-Off Processing of InGaN/GaN Light-Emitting Diode Chips

Nursidik Yulianto et al.

Summary: The study focuses on investigating the impact of laser scanning speed and integrated fluence on the LLO processing of GaN LED chips and their resulting structural properties. By adjusting the laser scanning speed, smooth GaN surfaces and good crystal quality could be obtained, despite the existing delamination of metal contact slightly degrading the LED performance. Mitigation strategies were developed to improve the optoelectrical characteristics of the lifted-off LEDs.
