Biomimetic liposomes hybrid with platelet membranes for targeted therapy of atherosclerosis

Summary: Atherosclerosis is a major cause of cardiovascular events and deaths worldwide, with platelets playing a role in the disease process. Biomimetic nanoparticles, such as P-Lipo, have been designed to target atherosclerosis by mimicking the natural homing of platelets. P-Lipo showed increased accumulation and efficacy in inhibiting atherosclerosis development, making it a promising platform for treating atherosclerosis and other platelet-related diseases.

Summary: The use of macrophage membrane-coated solid lipid nanoparticles for antioxidant delivery shows promise in delaying the progression of Alzheimer's disease by targeting neuronal mitochondria. This biomimetic nanosystem, capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier and selectively targeting neurons, exhibits favorable therapeutic effects in vitro and in vivo. The synergistic effects of macrophage membranes, RVG29, and TPP contribute to the success of this neuronal mitochondria-targeted delivery system.
