Electronic States Modulation by Coherent Optical Phonons in 2D Halide Perovskites

Jianhui Fu et al.

Summary: This study elucidates the origin of carrier-phonon coupling in 2D perovskites using transient absorption spectroscopy and how the exciton fine structure is modulated by coherent optical phonons. The study provides fresh insights into the exciton-phonon coupling of 2D perovskites relevant for emergent optoelectronics development.

Distance Dependence of Forster Resonance Energy Transfer Rates in 2D Perovskite Quantum Wells via Control of Organic Spacer Length

Shobhana Panuganti et al.

Summary: This study investigates FRET processes between donors and acceptors in 2D semiconductors, tuning the distance by varying alkylammonium spacer cation lengths. The results reveal rapid picosecond lifetimes that scale with spacer cation length, with empirical lifetimes matching theoretical models, providing insights into fundamental principles for FRET in 2D materials.

A Multi-Dimensional Perspective on Electronic Doping in Metal Halide Perovskites

Eric Amerling et al.

Summary: Research on derivatives of both bulk and low-dimensional metal halide perovskite semiconductors has grown significantly in the past decade, but the understanding and intentional applications of electronic doping have lagged behind. Successful electronic doping of these materials likely requires careful consideration and application of established doping strategies and mechanisms in the semiconductor field.

Two-Dimensional Dion-Jacobson Structure Perovskites for Efficient Sky-Blue Light-Emitting Diodes

Yuqiang Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, efficient sky-blue PeLEDs were fabricated using DJ phase perovskites, with organic diamine cations and RbBr incorporated to increase charge utilization, enhancing radiative recombination through synergistic confinement and passivation effects. The photoluminescence quantum yield approached 70%, and the fabricated PeLEDs achieved an external quantum efficiency of 8.5% with an emission peak at 490 nm.

Slow Hot-Carrier Cooling Enabled by Uniformly Arranging Different-n-Value Nanoplates in Quasi-2D Perovskites through Long-Range Orbit-Orbit Interaction toward Enhancing Photovoltaic Actions

Jia Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper reports a slow hot-carriers cooling process enabled by uniformly arranging different-n-value nanoplates in quasi-2D perovskites. The long-range orbit-orbit interaction provides the necessary condition to enable the unusual long-order electron-lattice coupling for a slow hot-carrier cooling effect through energy-momentum dispersion curvature within the crystalline lattice. With the slow hot-carrier cooling and long-range orbit-orbit interaction, the quasi-2D perovskite demonstrates superior carrier transport shown by high fill-factor values (>80%) with reduced photovoltaic loss in solar cells.

Manipulation of hot carrier cooling dynamics in two-dimensional Dion-Jacobson hybrid perovskites via Rashba band splitting

Jun Yin et al.

Summary: Hot-carrier cooling processes in hybrid perovskites with Rashba band splitting are investigated, revealing the acceleration of cooling at longer delays due to spin-flipping and spin-dependent scattering of hot electrons. Manipulating the spin state of hot carriers can extend the hot-carrier cooling, suggesting a new approach for improving the performance of hot-carrier-based devices.

Overcoming the carrier transport limitation in Ruddlesden-Popper perovskite films by using lamellar nickel oxide substrates

Jianghu Liang et al.

Summary: Quasi-2D Ruddlesden-Popper perovskite films composed of multiple 2D phases exhibit limited carrier transportation due to low-n-value phases (n = 1 and n = 2). Using a lamellar nickel oxide substrate as a hole transporting layer can improve fill factor and open-circuit voltage, leading to a significantly enhanced power conversion efficiency for PEA and FPEA based 2D perovskite solar cells.
