Finding new physics without learning about it: anomaly detection as a tool for searches at colliders

M. Crispim Romao et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new strategy based on anomaly detection methods to search for new physics phenomena at colliders independently of the details of such new events. Machine learning techniques are used to train on Standard Model events and explore novel AD methods, showing the potential of semi-supervised anomaly detection techniques to extensively explore present and future hadron colliders' data.

Phenomenology of vector-like leptons with Deep Learning at the Large Hadron Collider

Felipe F. Freitas et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a model inspired by Grand Unification principles that includes three generations of vector-like fermions, new Higgs doublets, and a rich neutrino sector at the low scale. By using state-of-the-art Deep Learning techniques, the first phenomenological analysis of this model is performed, focusing on new charged vector-like leptons and their possible signatures at the LHC. Results show that the proposed method can detect new VLLs before the end of LHC operations and provide important information to constrain the energy scale at which new gauge symmetries emerge.

Highly Enhanced Contributions of Heavy Higgs Bosons and New Leptons to Muon g-2 and Prospects at Future Colliders

Radovan Dermisek et al.

Summary: In a two Higgs doublet model type II extended by vectorlike leptons, heavy neutral and charged Higgs bosons contribute to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon with chiral enhancement from masses of new leptons and tan(2) beta enhancement from couplings of Higgs bosons. Even with moderate new Yukawa couplings, the measured value of muon 9 - 2 can be explained within one standard deviation using leptons up to 6.5 TeV or Higgs bosons up to 20 TeV, with the potential for even higher mass ranges if new couplings approach the perturbativity limit.
