Photosynthetic acclimation strategies in response to intermittent exposure to high light intensity in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Yu-Ting Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated how wheat plants acclimate to intermittent high light conditions by growing them under different light regimes for 4 weeks. The results showed that wheat plants invest in photosynthetic carbon assimilation and increase photosynthetic electron transfer rate to adapt to high light exposure. The adaptation of photosynthesis to intermittent high light exposure depends on the proportion and duration of the high light exposure.

Crop photosynthetic response to light quality and light intensity

Iram Shafiq et al.

Summary: Light is an important factor that affects plant growth and development, influencing plant morphology, physiology, and biochemical parameters. Different plants respond differently to different spectral radiations and light intensities, depending on growing conditions.

Decreased low-light regulates plant morphogenesis through the manipulation of hormone biosynthesis in Solanum lycopersicum

Yuping Jiang et al.

Summary: Reduced light intensity affects the growth and morphology of tomato plants to some extent, while moderately decreasing light intensity does not substantially influence their growth and morphological phenotypes. Tomato plants adapt to reduced low-light environment by manipulating the biosynthesis of multiple plant hormones, which directs morphogenesis and adaption.

Effects of shading stress during the reproductive stages on photosynthetic physiology and yield characteristics of peanut (Arachis hypogaea Linn.)

Wang Yi-bo et al.

Summary: This study investigated the mechanisms of photosynthetic, physiological, and yield variations among peanut cultivars under shading stress. S60 and P12 exhibited lower yield and biomass accumulation but higher light-trapping capability and antioxidant enzyme activities compared to C4 and YS151 under shading stress. The results suggest that non-stomatal limiting factors decrease the photosynthetic capacity of peanut under shading stress, and S60 and P12 show better light protection ability in weak light environments.
