Molecular reprogramming in grapevine woody tissues at bud burst

Summary: This study analyzed the gene expression in woody tissues of grapevine at dormancy and bud burst, finding that cell division, cell wall metabolism, and sugar mobilization are the main metabolic and cellular events at bud burst. Additionally, the upregulation of sugar metabolism genes correlates with a decrease in starch and soluble sugars in the woody tissues.
