Acute sleep deprivation elevates brain and body temperature in rats

Lal Chandra Vishwakarma et al.

Summary: The study using rats found that sleep deprivation led to significant increases in body, hypothalamic, and cortical temperatures, with body and cortical temperatures recovering faster during the recovery sleep period, while hypothalamic temperature remained higher. Notably, cortical temperature decreased immediately during recovery sleep and returned to near baseline levels within 4 hours, indicating a quicker recovery compared to hypothalamic and body temperature.

Circadian hepatocyte clocks keep synchrony in the absence of a master pacemaker in the suprachiasmatic nucleus or other extrahepatic clocks

Flore Sinturel et al.

Summary: The study suggests that the suprachiasmatic nucleus is necessary for synchronizing organs, but even in the absence of the suprachiasmatic nucleus or other cellular oscillators, the livers of mice still exhibit circadian rhythms.
