Multicolor three-photon fluorescence imaging with single-wavelength excitation deep in mouse brain

Yusaku Hontani et al.

Summary: Multiphoton fluorescence microscopy, particularly three-photon microscopy, offers significant advantages for deep-tissue imaging due to long excitation wavelengths and high nonlinear confinement. A new three-photon excitation scheme has been developed to enable multicolor imaging with single-wavelength excitation, resulting in enhanced signal for some red fluorescent molecules. This advancement has the potential to open new opportunities for life science applications of three-photon microscopy.

Cytotoxic T cells are able to efficiently eliminate cancer cells by additive cytotoxicity

Bettina Weigelin et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that sublethal interactions from multiple CTL can accumulate over time and achieve tumor cell killing by additive cytotoxicity. Statistical modeling reveals that delivering three serial hits within decay intervals below 50 minutes can distinguish between tumor cell death or survival after recovery.
