Influence of the carbon source concentration on the nitrate removal rate in groundwater

Ruinan Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that the addition of an external carbon source can improve the nitrate removal rate in groundwater during biological denitrification, with an optimal concentration observed at 2 g/L of glucose.

Dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium increased with rising temperature

Thang V. Lai et al.

Summary: Recent laboratory experiments showed that temperature regulates the reduction of nitrate by DNRA and denitrification processes. Increasing temperature from 10 to 40 degrees C enhanced DNRA, leading to enrichment of the NH4+ pool, but also decreased the percentage of nitrate reduction by DNRA compared to denitrification. High temperatures (30 to 40 degrees C) were found to enhance N-15(2) production during complete denitrification.

Effects of temperature on the nitrate reductase activity and growth of Ulva prolifera

Lina Feng et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different temperatures on Ulva prolifera growth and nitrate reductase activity. An optimized in vitro analysis method for Ulva prolifera NRA was developed and showed the optimal conditions for the assay. The study found that Ulva prolifera cultivated in a range of 10-20 degrees Celsius had a longer growth cycle, with a positive correlation between algal growth and NRA.

Degradation of High-Concentration Nitrate Nitrogen in Groundwater: A Laboratory Study

Manxi Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that artificially added denitrifying microbes can effectively promote denitrification of nitrate nitrogen, especially in anaerobic environments with added carbon sources, achieving a removal rate as high as 89.52%.
