The potential of integrated hybrid pre-post-processing techniques for short- to long-term drought forecasting

Kiyoumars Roushangar et al.

Summary: This study focused on forecasting short- to long-term SPI indices using hybrid pre-post-processing techniques in sites with different climates. The use of wavelet transform and EEMD pre-processing methods improved modeling efficiency, while ensemble models enhanced accuracy by approximately 50%. Data pre-processing was found to be more effective than data post-processing in increasing modeling accuracy.

Satellite-Based Meteorological and Agricultural Drought Monitoring for Agricultural Sustainability in Sri Lanka

Niranga Alahacoon et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate meteorological and agricultural drought occurrences in Sri Lanka and develop a methodology for drought declaration. By utilizing various spatial data analysis techniques for integration and analysis of vector and raster data, the findings of this study can effectively assist decision-makers in drought risk management, resilience, sustainable agriculture, and policymaking.
