Monitoring Lipophilic Toxins in Seawater Using Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction and Liquid Chromatography with Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry

Gymnodimine A in mollusks from the north Atlantic Coast of Spain: Prevalence, concentration, and relationship with spirolides

Summary: Gymnodimine A toxin has been detected in mollusks along the northern coast of Spain from April 2017 to December 2019 for the first time in Europe, with low prevalence and concentrations. The toxin is possibly produced by Alexandrium ostenfeldii and Karenia species, and shows geographical heterogeneity in distribution, posing a low risk to mollusk consumers.
