Platelet-rich plasma-hyaluronic acid/chondrotin sulfate/carboxymethyl chitosan hydrogel for cartilage regeneration

Nadieh KhaliliJafarabad et al.

Summary: In this study, the chondrogenic potential of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) combined with hyaluronic acid/chondrotin sulfate/carboxymethyl chitosan hydrogels was evaluated. The results showed that the presence of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and the similarity of the hydrogel constituents to the cartilage extracellular matrix could positively affect cell differentiation, which is advantageous for cartilage tissue engineering approaches.

Sustained Release of Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 from Bombyx mori L. Silk Fibroin Delivery for Diabetic Wound Therapy

Meng-Jin Lin et al.

Summary: The study developed a high purity patented silk fibroin film for slow-release of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), showing potential for diabetic wound therapy. The results indicate that the IGF-1-loaded SF films accelerated wound healing significantly by continuously activating the IGF1R pathway.

Zwitterionic hydrogel for sustained release of growth factors to enhance wound healing

Zecong Xiao et al.

Summary: The study developed FGF2-loaded SBMA hydrogels, which were found to be more effective in delivering FGF2 for wound healing compared to PEG hydrogels. In vitro studies demonstrated that SBMA hydrogels could successfully prolong the release of FGF2, maintaining its bioactivity, and in vivo investigation showed that SBMA hydrogels could accelerate wound regeneration by promoting various healing processes. Overall, SBMA hydrogels show promise as substitutes for PEG hydrogels in delivering FGF2 for wound regeneration.
