Bioactive Compounds from Medicinal Plants and their Possible Effect as Therapeutic Agents against COVID-19: A Review

Summary: The potential of bioactive compounds from medicinal plants as therapeutic agents against COVID-19 is being extensively researched. Out of the 60 identified medicinal plants, 50 of them have possible antiviral effects, with flavonoid compounds being the most common bioactive compounds discovered. Further clinical validation is needed for the development of effective antiviral drugs from medicinal plants for COVID-19 treatment.
