Normative Data of Objectively Measured Physical Activity and Sedentary Time in Community-Dwelling Older Japanese

Harukaze Yatsugi et al.

Summary: A study was conducted on 3998 community-dwelling Japanese adults aged 65 years and older to determine their levels of physical activity and sedentary time. The results showed that the subjects generally adhered to the physical activity guideline, but adherence decreased with older age. The study also found that sedentary time was high, but majority of the subjects met the current physical activity guideline by engaging in moderate-to-vigorous-intensity physical activity.
