Treadmill Exercise Alleviates Brain Iron Dyshomeostasis Accelerating Neuronal Amyloid-β Production, Neuronal Cell Death, and Cognitive Impairment in Transgenic Mice Model of Alzheimer's Disease

Dong-Hun Choi et al.

Summary: Brain iron levels increase with age, and abnormal iron metabolism may be associated with Alzheimer's disease pathology. Studies suggest that physical exercise can mitigate abnormal brain iron regulation in AD, reducing cognitive decline and neuronal cell death risk.

Mature Adult Mice With Exercise-Preconditioning Show Better Recovery After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

Keita Kinoshita et al.

Summary: Exercise preconditioning in mature adult mice has been shown to promote recovery from intracerebral hemorrhage-induced neurological deficits, reduce lesion volumes, increase phagocytotic microglial numbers, and elevate levels of several soluble factors in the plasma. This suggests that exercise preconditioning may offer neuroprotection and improve brain health even in middle adulthood.

Hippocampal transcriptome profiling reveals common disease pathways in chronic hypoperfusion and aging

Sang-Ha Baik et al.

Summary: This study investigated the hippocampal gene expression profile of young and old mice subjected to cerebral hypoperfusion, revealing common cellular signaling pathways likely important in the pathophysiology of vascular dementia. While there were similarities in the effects of BCAS and aging, the changes in hippocampal gene expression differed between young and old mice. Over 30 days, BCAS had minimal effect on cerebral blood flow or hippocampal gene expression in aged mice, suggesting age-related differences in response to hypoperfusion.

Transcriptome Profiling of Mouse Corpus Callosum After Cerebral Hypoperfusion

Summary: White matter damage caused by cerebral hypoperfusion is a major feature of SIVD, and studying transcriptomic profiles of hypoperfused mice may lead to potential therapeutic targets for SIVD in the future.
