A prospective nutritional assessment using Mini Nutritional Assessment-short form among patients with head and neck cancer receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy

Summary: This study demonstrated the clinical significance of pre-treatment nutritional status using the MNA-SF among HNC patients receiving CCRT. Patients with normal nutrition had better treatment outcomes and higher overall survival rates compared to those at risk of malnutrition and malnourished. The study suggests that nutritional assessment should be incorporated in pre-CCRT evaluation for all HNC patients to identify those vulnerable to treatment complications and interruptions.
