Caregiver-reported physical health status of children and young people with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder

N. Reid et al.

Summary: While Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) has been traditionally viewed as a neurodevelopmental condition, recent research suggests it may have broader systemic implications. This study aimed to provide insight into potential health issues among children with FASD, finding a higher prevalence of certain diagnosed health conditions compared to national data. Factors such as age of diagnosis, comorbid mental health conditions, and primary caregiver employment status were associated with the prevalence of diagnosed health conditions.

Early Motor Function of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Systematic Review

Yi Huey Lim et al.

Summary: The early motor impairments were evident in children later diagnosed with ASD, with differences in motor functions increasing with age between ASD and typically developing groups. Motor function across different NDD groups varied. Further research is needed to determine the clinical utility of motor impairment detection as an early transdiagnostic marker of NDD risk.
