Association of maternal diabetes with neurodevelopmental disorders: autism spectrum disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and intellectual disability

Shuyun Chen et al.

Summary: The study found that maternal diabetes, especially type 2 diabetes, is associated with an increased risk of NDDs in offspring, particularly ASD, ID, and ADHD. Paternal diabetes is also linked to offspring NDDs, but with weaker associations. Diagnosis of GDM between 27-30 weeks of gestation is associated with the highest risk of NDDs in offspring.

Composite adverse outcomes in obstetric studies: a systematic review

Dylan Herman et al.

Summary: Composite outcomes are commonly used in obstetric trials, but there is lack of consistency in their construction and measurement. Future research could benefit from novel methods like concept mapping to address limitations in developing composite adverse obstetric outcomes.
