Numerical investigation on bioconvection flow of Oldroyd-B nanofluid with nonlinear thermal radiation and motile microorganisms over rotating disk

H. Waqas et al.

Summary: This paper examines the mechanism of radiative Oldroyd-B nanofluid flow over a rotating disk with activation energy and motile microorganisms. Nonlinear ordinary differential equations were first converted and solved using a prominent numerical method, leading to a comprehensive graphical representation compared with existing resources.

Analysis of non-Newtonian fluid flow over fine rotating thin needle for variable viscosity and activation energy

M. Bilal et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the effects of nonlinear radiation and mixed convection for the Casson nanofluid on a thin needle, with temperature-dependent viscosity and a variable magnetic field assumed. By utilizing the MATLAB bvp4c function, results are calculated and organized in graphs and tables. Various physical parameters such as the Casson fluid parameter, Brownian motion, Prandtl number, and thermal radiation are examined for the velocity, concentration, and temperature profiles.

Thermal management in a biological tissue in order to destroy tissue under local heating process

Pouya Barnoon et al.

Summary: This study investigated the thermal management in a biological tissue to destroy tissue under local heating process, focusing on the performance of different types of trocars on tissue degradation. The results showed that the five-tine trocar had the best performance in tissue destruction, while the single-tine trocar could provide better control over the heat.

Free convection of non-Newtonian nanofluid flow inside an eccentric annulus from the point of view of first-law and second-law of thermodynamics

Amin Shahsavar et al.

Summary: This study investigates the hydrothermal and entropy generation characteristics in a naturally cooled eccentric horizontal annulus filled with non-Newtonian water-magnetite/CNT nanofluid. The results show that the average Nusselt number, global thermal EG, and global frictional EG increase with the increase of Rayleigh number and nanoadditive concentration. Additionally, it is found that negative eccentricity has both desirable and undesirable effects on the first and second laws of thermodynamics.

Pouya Barnoon et al.

Summary: This study investigates a steam reactor powered by propane fuel in proton exchange membrane fuel cells, and examines the control of reaction rate by velocity and temperature fields within the reformer. It is found that the reaction rate can be adjusted by the velocity and temperatures of the hot gases, achieving complete propane consumption at a temperature of 900 K.

Experimental study of a hemispherical three-dimensional solar collector operating with silver-water nanofluid

Mojtaba Moravej et al.

Summary: The experimental study evaluated a fixed three-dimensional solar collector with a hemispherical geometry according to ASHRAE standards. Results showed that the collector exhibited promising thermal performance due to its geometry and pipe arrangement, making it a viable option for domestic and industrial deployment. Switching from water to Ag-water nanofluid led to an average efficiency increase of around 11%, with the highest efficiency of 61.1% achieved at a nanoparticle concentration of 0.3% and a flow rate of 0.6 GPM.

Modeling of natural-gas diffusion in oil-saturated tight porous media

Mohammad Hossein Doranehgard et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel analytical solution to predict the diffusion coefficient and depth of natural gas penetration during the cyclic gas injection process soaking period. The model is based on mass-balance and continuity equations, and factors controlling the gas diffusion coefficient and oil velocity change as the soaking progresses. Experimental validation shows good agreement with the model predictions.

Numerical analysis of heat transfer in peripheral air vaporizers used in cryogenic storage tanks

Ying-Qing Song et al.

Summary: This study investigated the fluid flow and heat transfer in peripheral air vaporizers used in cryogenic tanks. The results showed that non-simple vaporizers have better heat transfer performance compared to simple vaporizers, especially at low surface temperatures. The presence of porous foam also contributes to an increase in heat transfer efficiency.
