Analogue Hawking Radiation in Nonlinear LC Transmission Lines

Haruna Katayama et al.

Summary: This paper discusses a proposed experimental demonstration of analogue Hawking radiation in a nonlinear LC transmission line. It shows that using solitons can help solve the issue of analogue black hole collapse in electrical transmission lines. The study demonstrates that voltage solitons spatially modify the velocity of electromagnetic waves, creating an event horizon in the system.

Solitonic black holes induced by magnetic solitons in a dc-SQUID array transmission line coupled with a magnetic chain

Haruna Katayama et al.

Summary: We investigate analog black holes generated in an array of direct current superconducting quantum interference devices (dc SQUIDs) coupled in parallel with a one-dimensional chain of single-domain nanomagnets. Magnetic solitons in the chain provide magnetic fields perpendicular to the SQUID array, leading to spatially varying velocities of electromagnetic waves through the nonlinear inductance required for creating effective event horizons. The derived Hawking temperature in this analog black hole based on the tunneling mechanism for Hawking radiation suggests that Hawking radiation is observable using current state-of-the-art technologies.

Intrinsic and extrinsic tunability of Rashba spin-orbit coupled emergent inductors

Jun'ichi Ieda et al.

Summary: The emergent induction of spiral magnets is further extended by considering the Rashba spin-orbit coupling and electron spin relaxation effects. Output voltages are intrinsically altered via the Rashba effect and extrinsically via nonadiabatic corrections due to spin relaxation and sample disorder. Controlling the amplitude modulation and sign change of the emergent inductance is possible through electrical gating and careful sample preparation, clarifying their origins.

Instabilities in an Optical Black-Hole Laser

Juan David Rincon-Estrada et al.

Summary: The Hamiltonian of optical fields in a nonlinear dispersive fiber is studied to investigate the spontaneous generation of quantum field fluctuations near an optical event horizon through the analog Hawking effect. Resonant Hawking radiation is found to originate from a discrete set of instabilities inside a cavity formed by a black hole and a white hole, tunneling out of the horizons. Numerical results are compared with resonance and instability conditions, leading to the development of a phenomenological model for a clearer physical picture.
