Analysis of water conveying iron(iii)oxide nanoparticles subject to a stationary magnetic field and alternating magnetic field

Anupam Bhandari

Summary: This study investigates the effects of magnetic field-dependent viscosity on the flow of water-based Fe3O4 magnetic fluid over a rotating and vertical moving disk. It is found that the velocity distribution is influenced by the strength and frequency of the alternating magnetic field, which has important implications for the sealing of rotating shafts and hyperthermia in cancer treatment.

Influence of autocatalytic chemical reaction with heterogeneous catalysis in the flow of Ostwald-de-Waele nanofluid past a rotating disk with variable thickness in porous media

Muhammad Ramzan et al.

Summary: This study examines the non-Newtonian rheology of Ostwald-deWaele nanofluid flow over a rotating disk of variable thickness in a Darcy-Forchheimer permeable medium, with the addition of non-uniform heat source-sink and surface catalysis in both homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions. The study uses the Buongiorno nanofluid model and performs simulations to obtain numerical results for drag force coefficient and heat transfer rate, showing that a high Prandtl number enhances heat transfer and the thermal profile is increased for both pseudoplastic and dilatant fluid models.

Plasma Hsp90 levels in patients with systemic sclerosis and relation to lung and skin involvement: a cross-sectional and longitudinal study

Hana Storkanova et al.

Summary: According to the study, plasma levels of Hsp90 are increased in patients with systemic sclerosis compared to healthy controls, and are associated with increased inflammatory activity, worsened lung function, and extent of skin involvement in patients with diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis. In patients with systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease treated with cyclophosphamide, baseline Hsp90 levels can predict changes in DLCO over 12 months of therapy.

Comparative study of hybrid and nanofluid flows amidst two rotating disks with thermal stratification: Statistical and numerical approaches

Muhammad Ramzan et al.

Summary: This study aims to compare the heat transfer capabilities of hybrid nanofluid and simple nanofluid under specific conditions, analyzing the flow characteristics of both through a mathematical model. The results show that thermal stratification and radiation parameters have different effects on the fluid temperature profile, while the skin friction coefficient models are similar.

Boundary layer flow with forced convective heat transfer and viscous dissipation past a porous rotating disk

Kushal Sharma et al.

Summary: This study investigates the Coriolis effect with forced convective heat transfer on steady ferrohydrodynamic flow past a rotating porous disk in the presence of viscous dissipation. The findings show that the heat transfer rate and thermal boundary layer thickness increase due to the higher value of the dissipation parameter.

Unsteady flow and heat transfer of the ferrofluid between two shrinking disks under the influence of magnetic field

Anupam Bhandari

Summary: The study investigates the unsteady flow of ferrofluid between two rotating and contracting disks in the presence of a uniform magnetic field. Using a similarity transformation, governing partial differential equations are converted into a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations and solved numerically through mathematical modelling. Various factors are studied for their effects on velocity and temperature distributions, while also correcting errors in the previous mathematical model for rotational flow.

Rheological effects on boundary layer flow of ferrofluid with forced convective heat transfer over an infinite rotating disk

Kushal Sharma

Summary: A study in nonlinear mechanical sciences has been conducted to analyze the steady flow of magnetic nanofluid over a rotating disk, considering the combined effect of rotation and Darcy parameter on forced convective heat transfer. The governing equations were transformed to a system of ordinary differential equations and solved using MATLAB, with discussions on various non-dimensional parameters and their effects on heat transfer rate and skin frictions. Numerical results for these parameters were found and discussed through plots.
