Empirical estimate of forestation-induced precipitation changes in Europe

Ronny Meier et al.

Summary: This study uses observation data and statistical models to show that changes in forest cover in Europe can significantly affect local and downwind precipitation. Alterations in precipitation due to reforestation are particularly significant in summer, highlighting the importance of considering land-cover-induced precipitation changes in strategies for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
