From Waste to Product: Circular Economy Applications from Sea Urchin

Federico Zilia et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the transition from a linear economy model to a circular economy and provides an innovative example of using sea urchin waste for creating new eco-sustainable products. Marine collagen has various properties that can support the production of biomedical devices, dermal implants, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products. Companies should consider financial, social, and environmental aspects to effectively develop their core business.

A Literature Review of Concrete Ability to Sustain Strength after Fire Exposure Based on the Heat Accumulation Factor

Michal Pasztetnik et al.

Summary: This paper aims to investigate the factors influencing the strength re-gain of concrete after high-temperature exposure, introducing a measure collecting various influences and presenting several factors affecting the relative residual compressive strength. Fundamental influences determining the residual strength include heating time, peak temperature, cooling or post-heating re-curing regimes, with the load level at exposure being inadequately examined. The superiority of the modified heat accumulation factor is shown, but additional experimental data are needed to develop a theoretical model of the residual strength.
