The mechanical and interfacial properties of concrete prepared by recycled aggregates with chloride corrosion media

Summary: The study evaluated the effect of recycled aggregates (RA) with different corrosion degrees on recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) and found that chloride accelerated cement hydration, improving the strength and performance of interfacial transition zones (ITZs) between old and new mortar, as well as old aggregate and new mortar. However, as the corrosion degree of RA and the age of concrete increased, the later strength reduction and poor interfacial performance were observed in the ITZs.
