Holding Time Influence on the Hot Ductility Behavior of a Continuously Cast Low Alloy Steel

Marina Gontijo et al.

Summary: This study investigates the hot ductility behavior of continuously cast low alloyed steel and finds that there is no significant change in ductility until 300 seconds, with a change in behavior observed at 3600 seconds. This change was further confirmed through images and precipitation kinetics simulations.

Overview of HSS Steel Grades Development and Study of Reheating Condition Effects on Austenite Grain Size Changes

Tibor Kvackaj et al.

Summary: This review paper discusses the development of chemical compositions and controlled processes of rolling and cooling steels to enhance their mechanical properties, reduce weight, and lower production costs. It evaluates the differences among HSS, AHSS, and UHSS based on microstructural components, chemical composition, alloying elements, and strengthening contributions to determine strength and mechanical properties. Additionally, it examines the yield strength and ductility of these steel grades, while also discussing the unique properties of HSLA steel within the HSS group.

AUSTENITE - FERRITE TRANSFORMATION TEMPERATURES OF C-MN-AL HSLA STEEL

Peter Prislupcak et al.

Summary: This study investigated the transformation temperatures of C-Mn-Al HSLA steel with different cooling rates using a thermal-mechanical simulator. The results showed that increasing cooling rates led to a shift of transformation temperature range to lower temperatures, impacting the final microstructure and hardness. Additionally, equilibrium transformation temperatures calculated using software were higher than experimentally measured values.
