Hydrogen rich gas production through co-gasification of low rank coal, flotation concentrates and municipal refuse derived fuel

Summary: This paper presented a new approach to thermochemical utilization of low rank coal, flotation concentrates, and municipal refuse derived fuels. Reactivity of various fuels was tested in steam gasification, and it was found that blending low rank coal with municipal refuse derived fuel can produce hydrogen-rich gas.

Numerical analysis of improvement of efficiency of hybrid PV/TE cooled by a passive air radiato

Summary: This study developed a three-dimensional numerical model of a PV/TEG hybrid system and investigated the method of using TEG cells and passive air radiators to lower the temperature of photovoltaic panels to improve the total electrical efficiency. The numerical model implemented in ANSYS software considered Thomson, Seebeck, and Joule's heat conduction phenomena, showing that the exchange surface of the passive radiator impacts total heat transfer and increases electrical efficiency at higher air speeds.

An analysis of self-ignition of mine waste dumps in terms of environmental protection in industrial areas in Poland

Summary: This paper aimed to develop a new comprehensive methodology to monitor thermal activity at mine waste dumps, tested in Poland. The study found that all three analyzed sites exhibited thermal processes, with un-reclaimed dumps characterized by intense thermal phenomena and reclaimed areas showing lower temperatures.

Highly efficient bismuth telluride-based thermoelectric microconverters

Summary: The high-performance p- and n-type Bi2Te3-based thermoelectric thin films were fabricated using flash evaporation method. The optimized technological conditions and new sandwich-layered design of the flexible film thermoelectric microconverter significantly improved the TE properties, achieving a ZT of approximately 0.6 and TE efficiency of approximately 3.4%.
