Effects of iron oxide coatings on the mobility and retardation of U(VI) in water saturated media

Yufeng Sun et al.

Summary: Iron oxide coatings commonly affect the fate of heavy metals, with U(VI) transport in such environments rarely studied. This research found that the presence of iron oxide coatings enhances U(VI) adsorption, and the breakthrough curves show a two-plateau profile, suggesting the need to consider more sites for U(VI) in transport systems.

Boosting the energy density of iron-cobalt oxide based hybrid supercapacitors by redox-additive electrolytes

Yan Zhao et al.

Summary: A hybrid supercapacitor device using FeCo2O4 needle-like array/CC and K-3[Fe(CN)(6)] was constructed to enhance pseudocapacitor performance. The FeCo2O4-NLA showed high specific capacitance, low resistance, and long-term stability in KOH+K-3[Fe(CN)(6)] electrolyte. An assembled device exhibited increased capacitance, long cycle stability, and ultrahigh energy density.

Effect of the phase composition of iron oxide nanorods on SO2 gas sensing performance

Thanh Vinh Nguyen et al.

Summary: Alpha-FeOOH nanomaterials were synthesized and further calcined to obtain gamma-Fe2O3 and alpha-Fe2O3 nanomaterials. A mass-type sensor based on the different iron oxide phase compositions of these nanomaterials exhibited high sensitivity towards sulfur dioxide gas detection at room temperature. Among the sensors, gamma-Fe2O3 coated QCM sensors showed the best performance for SO2 gas detection in the range of 2.5-20 ppm at room temperature.
