Estimation of the Lamb wave phase velocity dispersion curves using only two adjacent signals

L. Draudviliene et al.

Summary: A novel method is proposed for the evaluation of Lamb waves fundamental modes phase velocity dispersion and reconstruction of these curves segments using only two signals measured at two close points. The method has been experimentally verified to work with extremely high accuracy in different mediums.

Guided wave scattering at a delamination in a quasi-isotropic composite laminate: Experiment and simulation

F. Hervin et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact damage on carbon fiber composite laminates and the capability of guided ultrasonic waves to detect and characterize these damages. The research findings show that the shape and depth of delaminations have a significant influence on guided wave scattering.

A simple and easy-implemented time-of-flight determination method for liquid ultrasonic flow meters based on ultrasonic signal onset detection and multiple-zero-crossing technique

Zehua Fang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a method for determining time-of-flight (TOF) in liquid ultrasonic flow meters, based on ultrasonic signal onset (USO) detection and multiple-zero-crossing technique. The method is highly insensitive to waveform changes and has been validated through numerical experiments and experimental validation, showing its capability to accurately obtain TOF values.

A Novel Defect Estimation Approach in Wind Turbine Blades Based on Phase Velocity Variation of Ultrasonic Guided Waves

Renaldas Raisutis et al.

Summary: A new criterion based on the variation of ultrasonic guided waves (UGW) phase velocity for wind turbine blade (WTB) evaluation is proposed in this study, which shows effectiveness in defect detection, location, and sizing. The technique is validated through simulation and experimental studies, yielding promising results in both artificial defect and experimental measurement cases. The comparative results demonstrate the suitability of the proposed new criterion for defect detection tasks.
