Multi-thread hierarchical deep model for context-aware sentiment analysis

Abdalsamad Keramatfar et al.

Summary: Real-time messaging and opinion sharing in social media websites have become valuable sources of information, and sentiment analysis plays a crucial role in analyzing this information. However, the current research in sentiment analysis still faces challenges, as it mainly focuses on the textual content of posts and neglects the importance of context. This article proposes a context-aware multi-thread hierarchical long short-term memory (MHLSTM) model that utilizes various types of contexts, such as tweep, hashtag, and reply, alongside the content of the target post. Experimental results on a real-world Twitter dataset demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms baseline models by 28.39% in terms of relative error reduction.

Heterogeneous Graph Network Embedding for Sentiment Analysis on Social Media

Zhigang Jin et al.

Summary: Nowadays, more people are expressing their attitudes on different entities in online social networks, forming user-to-entity sentiment links. However, existing literature on user sentiment analysis often fails to capture users' hidden real attitudes. To address this issue, a powerful sentiment link analysis framework named NESA is proposed, which integrates user social relationships and sentiment polarity networks to effectively retrieve users' true attitudes.

Taylor's theorem: A new perspective for neural tensor networks

Wei Li et al.

Summary: Neural tensor networks are widely used in natural language processing tasks, but the mathematical explanation remains challenging due to the bilinear term. By applying Taylor's theorem, the inner link between neural tensor networks and feedforward neural networks is revealed. Unification of two forms of neural tensor networks and factorization methods for parameter efficiency are proposed.

Summary: This paper introduces a multi-task approach by explicitly incorporating negation information in sentiment analysis, which outperforms implicitly learning negation in an end-to-end manner. Training the model with negation as an auxiliary task helps improve the main task of sentiment analysis.
