Quantifying Planarity in the Design of Organic Electronic Materials

Yuxuan Che et al.

Summary: The study introduces a statistical method for quantifying the planarity of various conjugated systems. It investigates the effect of rotational disorder on planarization of common building blocks, and explores the correlations between gas-phase ⟨cos(2)φ⟩ and crystallographically observed planarity in the solid state. Additionally, the calculations reveal an interesting effect of increasing band gap upon planarization for conjugated systems coupling strong electron donor and acceptor units.

Persistent Conjugated Backbone and Disordered Lamellar Packing Impart Polymers with Efficient n-Doping and High Conductivities

Yang Lu et al.

Summary: A simple solution-based co-deposition method has been reported to achieve high conductivity n-doped polymers. These polymers exhibit surprising structural tolerance and excellent miscibility with commonly used n-dopants, allowing high concentrations and high mobility of charge carriers simultaneously, resulting in excellent electrical conductivity and thermoelectric performance.

Efficient n-Doping of Polymeric Semiconductors through Controlling the Dynamics of Solution-State Polymer Aggregates

Miao Xiong et al.

Summary: The miscibility issue in n-doped polymeric semiconductors can be overcome by modulating the solution-state aggregates of conjugated polymers, leading to high doping efficiency and charge-carrier mobility. This method can also be applied to improve the doping efficiency of other polymer systems with different aggregation tendencies.
