A Ran-binding protein facilitates nuclear import of human papillomavirus type 16

Kun-Yi Lai et al.

Summary: Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) use a unique nuclear import mechanism during cell entry, where the minor capsid protein L2 interacts with a protein complex composed of RanBP10, KPNA2, and DYNLT3 to facilitate transport towards mitotic chromatin. This study reveals novel cellular interactors and a newly discovered cellular transport complex involved in a poorly understood step of HPV entry.
