Ribosomal L1 domain-containing protein 1 coordinates with HDM2 to negatively regulate p53 in human colorectal Cancer cells

Li Ding et al.

Summary: RSL1D1 is a negative regulator of p53 in human CRC cells, promoting cell proliferation and survival. Silencing of RSL1D1 leads to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in a p53-dependent manner. RSL1D1 enhances p53 ubiquitination and degradation by forming a ternary complex with p53 and HDM2, ultimately reducing p53 protein levels. Additionally, RSL1D1 indirectly decreases p53 protein levels by stabilizing HDM2 mRNA.

Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (4th edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky et al.

Summary: The guidelines presented in this article aim to assist researchers in selecting and interpreting methods to examine autophagy, as well as to help reviewers provide constructive critiques of reports focused on these processes. It emphasizes that no single assay is perfect for every situation, and multiple techniques may be needed to properly monitor autophagy in different experimental settings. The article also highlights the importance of targeting multiple autophagy-related genes in genetic approaches to block autophagy effectively.
