Targeting EZH2-mediated methylation of histone 3 inhibits proliferation of pediatric acute monocytic leukemia cells in vitro

Abdulhameed Al-Ghabkari et al.

Summary: EZH2 is a key player in pediatric leukemia, facilitating chromatin remodeling and gene silencing by catalyzing methylation of H3K27. Inhibition of EZH2 activity in THP-1 cells leads to increased apoptosis and suppression of AKT and ERK protein phosphorylation. Combining EZH2 inhibitors with selinexor may enhance treatment efficacy in pediatric AML.
